📋 Description

• Design and implement generalised powerflow models that work reliably across diverse network topologies, voltage levels, and data quality scenarios • Develop and evaluate advanced modelling techniques — linearised approximations, physics-informed neural networks, graph neural networks, hybrid approaches, and optimal powerflow • Collaborate with experienced power engineers to ensure models are grounded in grid physics and operational reality • Work with talented software engineers to productionise models and integrate them into the platform • Contribute to technical strategy and help establish best practices for model development, validation, and maintenance

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in data science or ML roles, with demonstrated impact at a senior or staff level • Deep understanding of electrical distribution networks, power systems, and grid physics — whether from utilities, VPPs, grid tech, or the broader energy sector • Python proficiency and the ability to write quality code for analysis and modelling • Hands-on experience with AC/DC optimal powerflow, physics-informed ML, or similar grid modelling techniques • Optimisation expertise (constrained optimisation, OPF) • Software engineering depth — system design, testing, deployment, MLOps • GIS and network topology experience • Familiarity with Australian or US grid standards and operational practices • Utility systems experience (SCADA, DMS, etc.)

🏖️ Benefits

• Remote-first, with head office in Sydney
