📋 Description

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle 11g/12c/19c/21c and Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 databases across production, staging, and development environments • Install, configure, patch, and upgrade both database platforms • Manage database security, user roles, privileges, and access controls • Design, configure, and maintain disaster recovery setups using Oracle Data Guard and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, and Mirroring • Conduct DR drills, failover/switchover testing, and document RTO/RPO compliance • Troubleshoot replication lag, synchronization issues, and DR failover incidents • Manage and support databases hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including Base Database Service, Exadata Cloud Service, and Autonomous Database as applicable • Provision OCI DBCS and manage backup configuration, patching, and monitoring • Work with OCI networking, storage, and security constructs for database hosting • Perform SQL query tuning, execution plan analysis, index optimization, and instance-level performance tuning • Monitor and tune memory, I/O, and wait events; proactively resolve performance bottlenecks • Perform database cloning using RMAN duplicate, Data Pump, and SQL Server backup/restore-based methods • Execute database refreshes between Production and UAT/Dev environments, including data masking where required • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Oracle DB Links and SQL Server Linked Servers • Manage backup and recovery strategies and validate recovery readiness • Maintain configuration documentation, DR runbooks, and standard operating procedures • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams on database requirements • Participate in on-call or rotational support as needed

🎯 Requirements

• 9+ years of hands-on DBA experience with solid depth in both Oracle and MS SQL Server • Strong experience setting up and managing disaster recovery solutions, including Data Guard, Always On, Log Shipping, or equivalent • Working knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for database hosting and management • Proven expertise in database performance tuning at query, instance, and infrastructure levels • Practical experience with database cloning and database refresh processes • Strong understanding of database links, linked servers, and cross-platform connectivity • Solid grasp of backup/recovery tools including RMAN and native SQL Server backup/restore • Good understanding of database security, patching, and upgrade methodologies • Strong troubleshooting and incident-resolution skills under production pressure • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • Oracle OCP or Microsoft SQL Server certification preferred • Exposure to Exadata or Autonomous Database preferred • Scripting skills in Shell, PowerShell, or Python preferred • Experience with monitoring tools such as OEM, SolarWinds, or Zabbix preferred • Experience in a managed services or multi-client support environment preferred
