📋 Description

• Prepare annual financial statements for a simulated portfolio of small, owner-managed companies from year-end trial balance through signing pack • Check year-end packs and request missing information • Agree prior-year signed AFS to current-year opening balances and document differences • Map client account names to CaseWare account numbers and lead sheet codes; build import files and load trial balances • Tie bank balances, interest, foreign balances, creditors, and income in advance to supporting records • Post year-end journals for depreciation, deferred tax, prior-year tax adjustments, and reclassifications • Roll forward CaseWare files, update notes and comparatives, and prepare tax computations • Clear AI partner review notes and update files • Prepare final signing packs for director approval • Create high-quality AFS training data and document accounting steps, decisions, and judgments for AI • Design, refine, and test AI accounting workflows; identify and correct AI errors • Use AI models to map accounts, draft notes, and check work • Flag turnover above the R2.3m VAT registration threshold when clients are unregistered • Manage final trial balances, journals, signed AFS, missing-record requests, and post-signing-pack changes

🎯 Requirements

• BCom in Accounting, National Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent • 0 to 2 years of experience in an accounting practice including AFS preparation during articles or a learnership • Hands-on CaseWare experience including file setup, trial balance import and mapping, roll-forward, adjusting journals, and updating notes and comparatives — hard requirement • Working knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and the Companies Act • Comfortable with deferred tax, depreciation, and a company income tax computation • Strong Excel skills including lookups, lead schedules, and reconciliations • Clear, polite written English for client requests and review responses • Genuine interest in AI and in breaking accounting work into clear, teachable steps • Comfortable working with AI models and able to check and challenge what they produce • Short Loom video (1 to 2 minutes) required for application
