• Execute precision mechanical work in high-voltage electrical substations across diverse geographical regions under the guidance of senior technicians • Work side-by-side with experienced Field Service Technicians to learn transformer maintenance, service procedures, and troubleshooting techniques • Apply technical, mechanical, or military-acquired skills to real-world field service applications • Conduct equipment inspections and diagnostic assessments to support preventive maintenance efforts • Assist in servicing and repairing transformer systems using established processes and tools • Learn to analyze technical data and apply findings to critical customer challenges • Operate Vacuum Oil Processors (VOPs) and oil handling equipment with training and oversight • Maintain accurate processing logs and support transformer testing activities • Utilize digital tools and software platforms for documentation and site reporting • Collaborate with engineering teams, senior field staff, and customers to support maintenance strategies • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and internal procedures
• High School Diploma/GED plus 2+ years of professional work experience in technical or mechanical fields. • Relevant military training or experience is considered equivalent and strongly encouraged • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to travel up to 85% nationwide • Physical capability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform demanding tasks for extended periods • Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions for up to 12 hours daily • Class A CDL preferred for operating specialized service vehicles • Welding certification or experience preferred for enhanced field capabilities • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
