📋 Description

• Design, build and review code for our fraud and abuse backend platform • Iterate on features using Scala (no prior experience required) and technologies within GCP • Ship your first code in days, iterating on features in an agile manner • Operate autonomously but work closely with engineers and PMs to ensure high alignment • Collaborate cross-functionally with the product team and other Hopper teams • We operate with few meetings and emphasize strong alignment and asynchronous decision making

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building scalable backend systems • A strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability • The ability to work with minimal guidance, be proactive and to handle uncertainty, ambiguity and the challenge of quickly evolving goals • Excelled in cross-functional teams, working fluidly with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Frontend Engineers, and other highly skilled specialists • Prior experience in the payments and fraud space a plus
