📋 Description

• This is a FULLY remote role, but the candidate must be within the European region to collaborate with their team, peers, and internal customers. • Hostedaway is the market-leading SaaS scale-up transforming the vacation rental industry. • With innovative solutions and partnerships with giants like Airbnb, VRBO, and Booking, we're taking on the competition and winning. • Staff Engineers within Hostaway are in a pivotal technical leadership role to ensure their cross-functional team builds the right solutions that solve customer problems in a way that is secure, extensible and scalable for the future. • Having a close relationship with the domain’s Product Manager is key. • You are supported by an Engineering Manager who will help guide the day-to-day delivery aspects of the team, ensuring we break work down into tangible small tasks. • You readily engage with team members to find solutions to complex challenges in a collaborative manner.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in SaaS software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. • Expert-level proficiency in any backend language or platform, with a strong willingness to dive deep into NodeJS (preferably with TypeScript) and PHP, as these are the primary technologies used in this domain. • Strong understanding of relational databases (like MySQL or PostgreSQL). • Strong understanding of Frontend development concepts and practices. • Familiarity with transitioning event-driven service-oriented architectures by applying Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles. • Strong experience with unit testing (using Jest/PHPUnit or similar). • Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices. • Ability to balance technical debt with delivering new features in a fast-paced environment.
