📋 Description

• Lead the technical strategy for moving HubSpot from a fixed SaaS subscription model to a flexible contracting platform supporting usage-based, commit-based, and enterprise-grade pricing • Define and own architecture for contract lifecycle management, usage metering, entitlement enforcement, and pricing model extensibility using the Corex contract orchestration framework • Write production code regularly, lead design reviews, and own initiatives from architecture through rollout • Drive multi-team technical efforts across three Adaptive Monetization squads and the broader fintech organization • Incrementally improve load-bearing legacy contract infrastructure while maintaining reliability • Improve resilience and observability in systems generating production pages • Translate architectural decisions for finance, compliance, legal, and executive stakeholders • Influence product roadmap and pricing strategy through technical tradeoff guidance • Represent engineering perspectives on pricing strategy, contract flexibility, and go-to-market changes • Mentor senior and staff engineers across the Fintech organization • Align with other Fintech principal engineers on patterns that reduce complexity and increase reliability • Participate in recruiting and help raise the hiring bar for fintech technical talent

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience designing and evolving distributed systems with strict financial correctness requirements, such as billing infrastructure, payment processing, contract management, or usage metering • Background at a publicly traded company where audit rigor, compliance constraints, and real-money consequences shaped software development • Ability to operate effectively on complex, legacy systems that cannot be paused or rewritten • Strong executive communication skills, including explaining technical architecture decisions to CFOs and compliance officers • Mentorship orientation • Comfort with ambiguity and making good decisions quickly • Deep backend engineering expertise in financial logic, data models, and service contracts • Hands-on experience writing production code, leading design reviews, reviewing architectures, and owning technical direction • Ability to make principled tradeoffs between correctness, compliance, and product velocity
