📋 Description

• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and project documentation. • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs for lighting, power, data, and other electrical systems. • Develop detailed project cost estimates using Microsoft Excel, including materials, labour, and subcontractor pricing. • Prepare competitive tenders and professional client-ready bid submissions. • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors via email to obtain competitive pricing for electrical, civil works, and other trade packages. • Attend site inspections when required to support the estimating process. • Assist in developing project budgets and preliminary schedules. • Participate in client discussions during the tender process and support successful negotiations. • Maintain accurate records of estimates, supplier quotations, project correspondence, and tender documentation. • Use SimPro (or similar software) to support project tracking and documentation. • Proactively identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and contribute to business growth. • Work autonomously while collaborating effectively with the wider project team.

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator or in a similar estimating role. • Electrical trade background or a relevant qualification. • Proven ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications. • Demonstrated experience preparing quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. • Experience preparing professional tender submissions and bid documentation. • Experience coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. • Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage the estimating function from start to finish. • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup. • Available to work during Australian business hours. • **Nice to Have:** • Experience using SimPro, Bluebeam, Groundplan, or similar estimating and project management software. • Familiarity with Australian electrical standards or previous experience supporting Australian contractors. • Experience estimating commercial or industrial electrical projects. • Knowledge of structured cabling systems, ICT infrastructure, or security systems. • Experience supporting business development or identifying new project opportunities.
