•Meteorologist and Solutions Operations Specialist •Permanent •Remote in Japan •ICEYE is the global leader in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite operations for Earth Observation •Our team is a tight-knit group of experts across many disciplines •We actively support Continuous Professional Development •Responsibilities include supporting daily operations of monitoring global natural catastrophes •Help convey important information to Marketing and Social Media teams •Lead daily weather huddles and standups

🎯 Requirements

•Education in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a closely related field •Experience with operational forecasting for decision-making (min. 2 years) •Excellent time management, communication skills, proactiveness and problem solving •Ability to work a non-standard schedule (extra hours, weekends, and holidays as needed) •Being comfortable with finding your own way and live well in the continuous stream of change that is inevitable in a start-up that is beginning to scale •Dealing well with pressure and strict deadlines •Direct monitoring and forecasting experience for natural catastrophes •Deep understanding of tropical meteorology and/or hydrology •Experience in earth observation •Global forecasting experience •Experience working in or with the insurance industry •Experience working in or with emergency management •Familiarity with GIS software (eg. ArcGIS, QGIS) •SAR or radar data fundamentals •Satellite tasking
