📋 Description

• Collaborate with IISD teams to design, develop, and implement projects using a GESI lens • Conduct and support qualitative and quantitative research on the social, economic, and distributional dimensions of just energy transition, carbon pricing, transport electrification, and related energy policy issues • Collect, analyze, and synthesize data through literature reviews, policy scans, interviews, focus groups, and quantitative and qualitative datasets • Contribute GESI-responsive analysis to policy assessments, stakeholder analyses, political economy assessments, modelling exercises, and other technical work • Develop, draft, and refine reports, policy briefs, technical notes, presentations, and other knowledge products • Coordinate with partners and consultants on research planning, follow-up, documentation, and reporting • Prepare, organize, coordinate, facilitate, and document capacity development and stakeholder engagement activities • Design GESI-responsive training modules, learning materials, presentations, exercises, and other learning resources • Facilitate and co-facilitate trainings, workshops, webinars, learning sessions, and other capacity development activities • Support stakeholder consultations and engagement with government, civil society, private sector, community groups, and other partners • Work with the communications team on blogs, newsletters, presentations, webinars, and internal updates • Represent IISD projects and programs at relevant forums, conferences, and public events • Contribute to identifying challenges, emerging issues, solutions, and new project opportunities • Manage own time, workflow, and project inputs to deliver outputs on time and within budget • Support fundraising through proposals, concept notes, business development materials, and donor reporting

🎯 Requirements

• A master’s degree in gender studies, social sciences, public policy, environment, development studies, or a relevant interdisciplinary program or field; applicants without a master’s degree may apply with equivalent experience • Authorization to work in Indonesia without sponsorship from IISD • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in Indonesia, the Philippines, and/or Viet Nam, connected to GESI mainstreaming, energy, climate, sustainable development, policy research, capacity development, or related fields • Demonstrated experience contributing to or independently delivering research, analysis, capacity development, training, or learning activities • Experience working with teams to deliver research or program activities • Experience building relationships with government, civil society, or community groups • Strong analytical and writing skills • Working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis • Familiarity with sustainable development, policy theory, and current climate and energy policy issues; willingness and ability to learn in these areas • Applied knowledge of GESI, gender-based analysis, and GESI mainstreaming; willingness to deepen this knowledge • Strong skills developing presentations, accessible learning materials, and other content for different audiences • Basic-to-intermediate facilitation and presentation skills, with an interest in adult learning and participatory approaches • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English (required) • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office/Teams and web-based communications and collaboration tools • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, organize work, manage competing priorities, and deliver quality outputs on time • Applications must be submitted in English
