• generate new business through proactive outbound prospecting, including cold calling • qualify inbound and outbound sales leads and progress them through to conversion • retain, grow, and expand existing accounts in close partnership with local account managers • represent Illumina to customers and advocate internally for customer needs • generate interest from new ‑ to ‑ Illumina customers using multiple sources • engage with customers via phone and email, with occasional field travel • apply in ‑ depth technical knowledge of Illumina products • stay current on industry trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning • act as an overlay partner to field account managers and sales specialists to support strategic initiatives • document all outbound activity and prepare sales activity, pipeline, and performance reports
• knowledge of genomics, genotyping, gene expression, sequencing, or multi ‑ omics • strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external audiences • exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style • bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Science, Genetics, or a related field required • master’s or PhD in Genetics or a related discipline is a plus • strong understanding of relevant markets and sales opportunities • fluency in English required; additional European languages (Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, or Dutch) are desirable but not essential
