📋 Description

• Design and own the platform architecture to ensure the product is scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-efficient. • Build and evolve core backend infrastructure (Python-based services, APIs, async workers, LLM pipelines). • Drive infrastructure automation, including provisioning, CI/CD, configuration management, and environment consistency. • Define SRE and reliability foundations—monitoring, observability, alerting, runbooks, SLIs/SLOs. • Develop and maintain scalable data storage and access patterns in PostgreSQL, including schema evolution and performance optimization. • Establish security best practices, including secrets management, IAM, network boundaries, audit logging, and compliance-ready patterns. • Lead cross-functional technical initiatives with backend, product, and frontend teams to ensure platform stability. • Set engineering standards and mentor engineers, raising the overall bar for quality, reliability, and architectural thinking. • Drive cost-efficiency initiatives, including observability into AWS spend, right-sizing infrastructure, and optimizing AI usage costs. • Champion performance and scalability, identifying bottlenecks and pushing for systemic improvements. • Evaluate and introduce new technologies where appropriate, balancing innovation with long-term maintainability.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with AWS, including ECS/EKS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, CloudFormation/Terraform, S3, and VPC networking. • Strong Python engineering experience, including distributed systems, async workloads, and production service development. • Deep experience with Postgres, including indexing strategies, migrations, query optimization, and high-availability patterns. • Production experience with modern DevOps tooling, including Docker, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and observability stacks. • Strong architectural skills designing highly available, horizontally scalable systems. • Incident management experience, including leading major incidents, running postmortems, and defining remediation plans. • Strong collaboration and communication skills, capable of influencing product, engineering, and leadership decisions.
