📋 Description
• Own the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and vision for the Instacart Design System • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 8 designers and design technologists • Anticipate trends and proactively adapt IDS to meet emerging needs • Continuously improve established frameworks for governance and contribution • Build deep partnerships with Product, Engineering, and Brand teams • Champion design excellence ensuring IDS is a foundation for user-first experiences • Provide transparency and education to stakeholders and teams
🎯 Requirements
• 10+ years of experience in digital product design • 3+ years of experience leading teams • Proven track record of evolving design systems at scale • Expertise in Figma, design tokens, multi-platform systems • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills • Ability to balance functional design with visionary thinking • Passion for fostering a community of practice
