📋 Description

• Design, build, and own Spring Boot microservices and Web APIs from data model through Kubernetes deployment • Take end-to-end responsibility for features, including schemas, services, API contracts, tests, pipelines, and production behaviour • Use AI assistance across design, implementation, refactoring, testing, and code review while maintaining accountability for merged code • Establish the team's AI-assisted engineering practices, review gates, guardrails, and onboarding approach • Pair with engineers on complex problems and share context • Contribute to architectural decisions regarding service boundaries, communication patterns, and data ownership • Maintain GitLab and Jenkins pipelines, test suites, container builds, and Terraform-managed infrastructure • Review code • Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps to turn ambiguous requirements into shippable solutions • Set technical direction and mentor engineers as a lead • Engagement runs through the end of the year, with a high probability of extension

🎯 Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Java 11 and Java 17, including concurrency, collections, memory behaviour, and modern language features • Production-grade experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot, including dependency injection, configuration, Spring Data, Spring Security, REST controllers, and testing support • Experience designing, versioning, documenting, and evolving HTTP Web APIs • Experience with microservice architecture, including service decomposition, inter-service communication, resilience patterns, and data ownership • SQL and relational data modelling with PostgreSQL and MySQL, including schema design, indexing, query tuning, and migrations • Automated testing experience with JUnit, Mockito, and integration tests • Experience with Maven for build and dependency management • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and debugging • Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code • CI/CD experience with GitLab and Jenkins • Practical experience with AI-assisted software development • Willingness to work in pair programming • Strong communication skills and experience in cross-functional teams • English at B2 level or above
