• Manage personal injury cases from initial client intake through settlement or resolution • Keep attorneys and the legal team informed of important case developments • Draft correspondence, emails, and legal documents • Organize settlement documents and assist with case closing activities • Calculate and document firm expenses as cases approach settlement • Maintain records of outstanding liens and related correspondence • Obtain supporting information and documentation from clients and third parties • Gather documents and information required for discovery responses • Assist attorneys with preparing and responding to discovery • Review and organize medical records and identify relevant information • File and manage no-fault and liability insurance claims • Follow up with clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, courts, and other parties • Track discovery deadlines and outstanding items • Prepare Bills of Particulars, Uniform Interrogatories, Demands for Production of Documents, Combined Demands, and other discovery requests and responses • Track clients’ medical treatment and appointments • Request medical records, medical bills, lien information, and related documentation • Maintain accurate records of insurance communications and claim activity • Prepare and submit insurance applications, forms, and supporting documentation • Communicate professionally and empathetically with clients • Support client intake and onboarding • Provide litigation and case preparation support to attorneys • Identify gaps or inconsistencies in medical documentation • Monitor treatment progress and follow up on records, bills, and documentation • Assist clients with scheduling and coordinating medical appointments • Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status, documentation, unpaid medical bills, denied bills, and coverage issues • Identify missing information and incomplete case tasks, and conduct proactive follow-ups • Maintain complete, accurate, and organized electronic case files • Perform additional paralegal, legal administrative, and case support responsibilities as assigned
• Prior experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Case Manager, or similar professional within a personal injury law firm is required • Experience supporting personal injury cases from intake through settlement or resolution is required • Experience working with medical records, medical bills, medical documentation, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers is required • Familiarity with no-fault claims, liability claims, discovery, and litigation documents is required • Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required • Experience with New York personal injury law, litigation, discovery, and insurance procedures is preferred • Experience supporting matters involving motor vehicle accidents, pedestrian accidents, construction accidents, premises liability, or other negligence claims is preferred • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment and handling confidential legal, medical, and client information professionally • English and Spanish listed under Languages • Ability to manage multiple priorities • Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, accuracy, dependability, proactive follow-through, independent problem-solving, professional judgment, adaptability, empathetic communication, collaboration, and remote work proficiency
