JUPUS is a German SaaS company that provides an AI-powered legal secretary platform for law firms. Its product centralizes client intake across web chat, phone, and email, automates digital questionnaires, extracts and generates legal documents (e. g. , powers of attorney, mandate agreements), offers an AI answering machine and chatbot, online appointment booking, and integrates with law firm software. Designed to be GDPR and professional-law compliant, JUPUS aims to reduce administrative effort, increase qualified mandates, and free up billable time for legal teams.

📋 Description

• Own the data platform end to end, including ingestion, raw layer, ClickHouse warehouse and dbt project • Modernise the existing platform and improve reliability, correctness and historical data integrity • Own definitions, denominators, eligibility rules and limitations for business metrics, starting with the customer health score • Translate business questions from Customer Success, Sales, Product and leadership into durable, defensible metrics • Manage warehouse architecture, query costs and data delivery surfaces for BI and CRM • Establish authoritative written definitions for leadership-visible metrics and conventions for the growing Data function • Work approximately 70% hands-on building and 30% defining, documenting and explaining • Report to the Head of Engineering and collaborate with data, infrastructure and application engineers • Operate as a senior individual contributor without line management responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• Substantial experience in data engineering or analytics engineering with production ownership of a warehouse and transformation layer • Production experience with ClickHouse • Ownership-level experience with dbt, including incremental models, snapshots, tests, macros and CI/CD • Python data engineering experience with EL tooling, S3 and CI-based orchestration owned end to end • Experience with product event streams such as PostHog, Amplitude, Segment or Mixpanel • Understanding of user-to-company identity and group association issues and their downstream metric impact • Experience defining a business KPI end to end and defending it to non-technical stakeholders • Analytical rigour, including cohorts, correct denominators and stating sample size before findings • Ability to act independently without waiting for tickets • Comfort presenting to senior and C-level stakeholders • Located within CET +/-2 • Nice to have: Metabase administration, CRM and billing systems as data sources, dlt, GDPR-driven data deletion, Grafana, German, B2B SaaS or legal-tech experience • Nice to have: experience designing data for non-technical colleagues querying through AI tools
