📋 Description

• Advise on security country plans and SOPs, including content, structure, updates, risks, and mitigating measures • Liaise with local security forces, diplomatic missions, private security companies, informal security networks, and other relevant agencies • Provide regular security updates for LAW staff, visitors, and partners • Maintain understanding of the regional threat environment and risks relevant to LAW operations • Monitor evolving threats and produce and disseminate reports with mitigating advice • Advise on programmatic developments, including litigation, and potential security risks for staff, partners, and clients • Review local partners’ security management procedures and provide actionable recommendations • Advise on security mission plans and mitigation measures based on objectives, schedules, locations, and security context • Advise on secure accommodation and transportation • Provide initial security briefings and debriefings to visiting staff and consultants • Maintain communication with staff during missions, provide daily security updates, and monitor daily check-ins • Accompany LAW staff on missions to Sudan when necessary and manage the threat environment in real time • Keep staff updated during major security incidents • Serve as the first point of call during staff crisis situations and organise or participate in crisis management teams • Facilitate emergency crisis management, including evacuation support

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or relevant certifications in security management • At least five years of security management experience • Ideally, experience with an international organisation or non-governmental organisation • Experience working with organisations focusing on human rights preferred • Experience liaising with international, diplomatic, governmental, and local authorities and organisations, including security networks • Experience developing safety and security protocols and procedures, including security mission and country plans • Experience supporting implementation across diverse stakeholders • Experience consolidating information to produce clear assessments and recommendations • Experience in crisis and incident management for INGOs • Experience working in challenging and changing environments • Ability to find solutions to emerging challenges and maintain balance under stress • Excellent interpersonal skills • Ability to communicate effectively across cultures, including in crisis management contexts • Demonstrated commitment to high professional and ethical standards • Preferably based in Sudan
