📋 Description

• Track and maintain database standards. • Follow governance policies and best practices for database management and usage across the enterprise. • Perform installation and upgrades of the database server and application tools on time and per standards. • Enforce controls and monitor user access to the database. • Implement security measures to safeguard the database. • Monitor the performance, security, and uptime of all database systems. • Ensure that patches are identified and applied to systems in line with documented security and database best practices. • Assist in the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures. • Maintain database backup and recovery plans to safeguard critical data against loss or corruption. • Follow Change Management processes to implement database configuration changes. • Follow Problem Management processes to troubleshoot and resolve recurring issues. • Proactively monitor and respond to database alerts. • Respond to and resolve tickets and new build requests within SLA guidelines. • Act as a mentor within the DBA team and broader organization, providing guidance, training, and knowledge sharing. • On-call rotation to ensure 24 x 7 support of database operations.

🎯 Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in database administration within an Oracle or MS SQL environment. • Solid understanding of database technologies like MS SQL Server and Oracle. • Experience with core operating systems including Windows and Linux. • Working knowledge of database backup and redundancy technologies. • Proficient in database security access control, encryption, and auditing. • Solid understanding of database, instance and server level monitoring and alerting. • Understanding of scripting; using Structured Query Language (SQL), PL/SQL, T-SQL, and shell scripting technologies. • Cassandra experience and administration desirable. • Understanding of technology troubleshooting methodologies. • Ability to perform performance tuning and triage. • Effective team player and mentor with the ability to collaborate within a global team environment. • Must be able to function within a fast-paced, constantly changing and improving technology team and organization. • Willingness to participate within a department level on-call 24/7 pager rotation. • Bachelor's degree preferred.
