📋 Description

• Design load-testing scenarios that accurately model real-user behavior • Implement test scenarios in Python against customer protocols • Maintain and improve the load-testing platform • Perform maintenance, bug fixes, dependency upgrades, infrastructure upgrades, and targeted improvements • Work across the Go backend, React frontends, and AWS infrastructure • Work directly with customers and their engineering teams • Agree on test objectives, build scenarios, run tests, analyze results, identify bottlenecks, make changes, and iterate • Participate in customer technical sessions and grow into leading them • Investigate systems under stress using metrics, traces, logs, and application behavior • Explain performance findings and latency curves to customers • Challenge ineffective test scenarios and provide sound engineering recommendations • Handle test data, account pools, flaky protocol clients, difficult environments, and load-specific behavior reproduction

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful ownership of shipped work • Strong Python skills • Hands-on cloud experience, ideally AWS, including infrastructure as code and containers • Understanding of the technical and financial implications of aggressively scaling infrastructure • Breadth to maintain a typed backend and React frontend • Practical understanding of distributed systems and failure modes, including timeouts, back-pressure, connection limits, resource contention, and distinguishing slowness from failure • Communication skills to lead technical customer sessions, explain findings clearly, and make engineering recommendations • Excellent spoken and written English • Experience with performance or load-testing tools such as Locust, k6, JMeter, Gatling, or self-built tooling is advantageous • Experience with games, real-time systems, or high-traffic consumer platforms is useful but not required • Willingness to work some test windows outside normal office hours
