📋 Description

• Design and execute black-box tests for complex MaxScale scenarios and combinations of filters and routers • Review and verify product documentation for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with software behavior • Act as a technical point of contact for issues escalated by support engineers • Interact with support teams and occasionally customers to verify problems, build reproduction environments, and isolate root causes • Create representative test cases to help developers resolve bugs • Contribute code fixes as familiarity with the MaxScale codebase grows • Coordinate four maintenance releases per year across five active MaxScale series • Ensure builds and packages are verified and ready for scheduled releases • Monitor and maintain the automated build system • Troubleshoot build failures across platforms and manage dependencies within virtual machine environments • Manage and troubleshoot DEB and RPM package creation for Linux distributions • Learn and use BuildBot to implement modifications and improvements to the MaxScale build pipeline

🎯 Requirements

• Good working knowledge of C++ for test development and understanding the code base • Proficiency in Python for build automation and scripting • Strong SQL knowledge and experience with database management systems, preferably MariaDB or MySQL • Experience with Linux environments • Proficiency in DEB and RPM packaging and repository management • Practical experience with Jenkins, GitLab, or similar CI/CD tools • Experience in black-box testing and troubleshooting complex software interactions • Experience using virtual machines and cloud platforms for building and testing software • Strong background with MariaDB architecture preferred • Hands-on experience with BuildBot preferred • MariaDB does not sponsor work visas or relocation
