• This is a remote position. • Controller – $110K–$125K + Premier Union Benefits Remote (Must Reside Near SE Michigan) • An established health and benefits organization is seeking a Controller to lead critical financial functions and reporting activities for a multi-entity operation. • This is an exceptional opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting leader with a background in healthcare or benefits administration and strong technical expertise in Basys software and Advanced Excel skills . • Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements, including footnotes and variance reports Lead the month-end and year-end close processes Manage budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc reporting Oversee payroll operations including payroll tax reporting and compliance (W-2s, 1099s) Maintain accurate fixed asset accounting and investment reconciliations Support external audit processes and act as the point of contact for auditors Reconcile GL accounts and manage data interfaces between financial systems and Basys
• Bachelor’s in Accounting required; CPA preferred • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience • Strong analytical mindset with attention to audit readiness and compliance • Experience in health plans, benefit administration, or union-based organizations preferred • High integrity, discretion, and ability to manage confidential data
