• Devise and deliver strategic communications campaigns for climate, energy, and nature issues • Create and distribute press releases, social media content, quotes, and digital products tailored for organic reach • Lead digital campaigns and deliver real-time communications campaigns during key events • Build and maintain relationships with Italian journalists, digital media outlets, online influencers, and content creators • Pitch timely, targeted stories that drive climate action • Engage political leaders, NGOs, academia, civil society organizations, and business sectors in Italy • Provide strategic communications advice aligned with campaign goals • Support and expand the spokesperson network and elevate public profiles • Monitor Italian political and media landscapes to identify strategic engagement opportunities • Provide actionable insights to colleagues and partners • Execute additional communication tasks and strategic projects as needed • Report to the Italy Desk - Lead • Contribute to campaigns aligned with Italian and overarching Europe strategies • Maintain and build partner networks to increase political and media attention to key issues
• Track record of crafting and pitching compelling stories that cut through the noise to resonate with Italian audiences • Deep knowledge of climate communications, capable of guiding partners on effective messaging and outreach strategies • Proven experience leading impactful climate campaigns • Proven experience in a digital media campaigning role, with the ability to analyze digital metrics and evaluate performance • Proactive self-starter with a talent for establishing and maintaining strong partnerships across the climate sector, capable of working independently to establish relationships and initiate and manage projects • Skilled in turning campaign ideas into executed communication outputs alongside diverse teams, experts, and external partners • Strong media-tracking skills to monitor political debates, manage time effectively, and rapidly capitalize on breaking news and emerging trends • Proven experience transforming ideas into campaigns and communication outputs and managing their delivery, collaborating with various colleagues and experts • Residency in Italy • Native-level Italian language skills • Fluency in written and spoken English • Genuine interest in and passion for addressing climate change • Adaptable skills to thrive in a fast-paced, broad work environment, collaborating across time zones using tools like Slack and Google Workspace • Commitment to an inclusive and empowering approach to tackling climate change • Additional languages are an asset
