📋 Description

• Open and check provided PDF annotation tasks • Confirm pages are in Japanese, legible, contain real content, and show no personal details • Identify and bound every meaningful page region • Assign component types and reading-order indexes • Link regions to their associated figures or tables using parent component identifiers • Transcribe all text exactly as shown, including Japanese scripts, furigana, and handwriting • Flag illegible source regions • Capture language, document type, source, page dimensions, and table/formula/handwriting flags • Review colleagues’ work end to end as an experienced annotator • Produce human-authored training data for document AI models

🎯 Requirements

• Native Japanese speaker with full command of kanji, hiragana, katakana, furigana, and variant character forms • Professional experience in interpretation, journalism, transcription, translation, editorial work, or comparable document-intensive work • Character-level accuracy and strong attention to detail • Ability to apply a taxonomy consistently across hundreds of pages • Comfort with vertical text, multi-column newspapers, exam papers, and handwritten forms • Fluent Japanese language skills required; all work is performed in Japanese • Ability to work as an independent contractor • H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
