β’ Ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, colleagues, and the community. Provides opportunities for engagement and management during risk assessments, goal setting, improvement priorities, monitoring progress and further evaluation of the effectiveness of the department. β’ Facilitates procedures to ensure the mission is embedded into the Protective Services function across the enterprise, regardless of employed or contracted officers. β’ Provides routine updates, important and timely information to all constituent groups. Training includes, but is not limited to, ICS, HERT, CISM, HazMat Awareness, and Operations. β’ Develops business cases, seeks approval and funding, grant or otherwise, to address safety and emergency projects to address improvements in systems, people, strength, processes, and technology, designed to provide a safe and secure environment in an ever-changing environment. β’ Serves as the leader and advisor for preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery activities. These activities may include natural hazards, human caused hazards, technological hazards, hazardous materials, and emerging infectious diseases. β’ Ensures colleague engagement and action plans are achieved successfully; establishes performance expectations; coaches, develops, and evaluates performance to enable colleagues to be successful in contributing to the achievement of individual and department objectives, and to ensure high quality services are delivered. β’ Develops and ensures regulatory compliance with all department policies, processes, guidelines, and standards in addition to CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, among others. Participate and provide reporting including compliance data during Environment of Care, Safety, and other related committees. β’ Establishing relationships and coordinating with federal, regional, state, and local emergency management agencies and partners β’ Creation and implementation of Ministry-wide emergency management training and education programs, management plans, and programs for catastrophic incidents affecting multiple markets or groups β’ Participation and representation of BSMG on emergency management groups, councils, committees, advisory boards, etc. β’ Coordination of Ministry-Wide Incident Command System implementation and activities β’ Serve as Subject Matter Expert and technical advisor to market and group level emergency managers. β’ Coordinates and advises on Business Continuity Planning Activities
β’ Bachelor's degree in public, healthcare or business administration, program management, leadership, emergency management, risk management, non-profit management or another related field (required) β’ 5 years of experience in Emergency Management. (required) β’ Experience in document writing to include policies procedures and plans (required) β’ Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Incident Command System (ICS) Courses 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 (required) β’ Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) (required or obtainable within 6 months of hire) β’ International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Certified Emergency Manager (preferred) β’ International Board for Certification Services and Management (IBFSCM) Certified Hospital Emergency Professional (preferred) β’ American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) National Disaster Healthcare Professional certification (preferred) β’ National Disaster Life Support Foundation (NDLSF) Certified Healthcare Emergency Coordinator (preferred) β’ Familiarity with the Hospital Incident Command System (preferred) β’ Previous or current service in first responder or clinical community including: firefighting, law enforcement, emergency medical services (EMT, Paramedic) (preferred) β’ Experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
