📋 Description

• Coordinate the work assigned to the team • Participate actively in cross-team projects and ensure team work meets required standards • Ensure month-end and year-end closings across all Tiko entities conform to SOPs • Execute checks and balances in line with internal controls, policies, and procedures • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements • Monitor the accuracy and completeness of local books of accounts • Maintain, develop, and monitor Tiko’s Annual Operating Budget • Review budgets and prepare monthly and quarterly projections/forecasts for approval • Ensure compliance with accounting and fiscal laws, Tiko policies, and donor regulations • File and safeguard consolidated finance records • Review local and global statutory audits, follow up on recommendations, and close audit findings • Manage the global payroll process, bank reconciliation, intercompany reconciliation, and global salary allocations to donor budgets • Lead, develop, and mentor team members

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years in a controller role • Fluent in English (level C2) required • Bachelor's degree in finance/business administration • Experience managing a team • Strong market experience in Portugal • Hands-on experience in either the UK or the Netherlands • Proven experience working remotely with international teams • Experience managing operations or transactions across EUR, USD, and other European or African currencies • Good knowledge of accounting standards, internal control frameworks, and cost control methods • Excellent knowledge of risk and compliance • Currently based in Portugal (mandatory)
