📋 Description

• Design, build, and administer highly available and performant MySQL databases • Support production databases across global data centers • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot MySQL replication and clustering • Provide database reports and queries for internal stakeholders • Perform performance tuning, backup and recovery, and proactive monitoring • Troubleshoot complex database issues to maintain system availability • Automate database tasks using Python, Shell, or Bash scripting • Document database designs, processes, and operational guidelines • Follow change management processes for production environments • Work closely with Operations and Development teams to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical, scalable databases • Support modernization efforts into cloud-based database environments

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of overall professional experience • 3+ years of hands-on MySQL administration • Experience with GCP or AWS cloud database technologies • Strong understanding of MySQL implementation, performance tuning, and master-master replication • Proficiency with MySQL administration tools and monitoring performance indicators, including IO, CPU, and queries • Experience writing SQL queries for reporting and analytics • Solid knowledge of Linux for database administration • Scripting skills in Python, Shell, or Bash • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities • Exposure to SQL Server administration is nice to have • Data warehouse experience, such as Google BigQuery, is nice to have • Familiarity with automation tools for database provisioning and monitoring is nice to have
