📋 Description

• Review and analyze leads for potential suspicious activity from alert detection processes, subpoenas and warrants, negative media reports, and other sources • Identify, research, and report suspicious activity • Manage investigations from initial detection through disposition • Review reports and investigative leads that may identify suspicious activity thoroughly and promptly • Formulate and recommend responses to potentially suspicious findings • Report suspicious activity to appropriate regulatory authorities • Support MoneyGram’s forward-looking risk-mitigation response • Support managers, supervisors, and senior analysts in moderately complex AML/Fraud investigations • Work with team members to close cases, escalate findings, and/or file Suspicious Activity Reports with global regulators, law enforcement, or Financial Intelligence Units • Write and file Suspicious Activity Reports and recommend relationship retention or termination • Liaise with Compliance, Advisory, Business, Legal, Security, Law Enforcement, and other internal teams • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• BA/BS in business, finance, law enforcement, legal studies or a related field; may be substituted with equivalent work experience in Financial Services, Law, Banking or a related field • 3-5 years of compliance financial investigations experience in money service business or banking • CAMS or CFE certification preferred • 1 year of experience writing and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) or similar in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements preferred • Intermediate knowledge of laws applicable to money laundering, including the BSA, USA Patriot Act, US Treasury AML guidelines, OFAC requirements, and Suspicious Activity Reporting requirements, and/or global AML/CFT/Fraud laws and regulations • Strong organization and time management skills • Ability to prioritize changing work assignments • Ability to work under minimum supervision • Ability to multitask and complete projects on time • Exceptional research, analytical, cross-referencing, and deductive reasoning skills • Strong writing, analytical, verbal, and communication skills • Ability to communicate investigative findings and recommendations with senior leadership and law enforcement • Ability to communicate effectively with a culturally diverse agent and consumer base • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, highly structured, deadline-driven culture • Experience working with highly confidential information • Ability to share knowledge, mentor, and train other team members • Solid business knowledge and comprehension of MoneyGram products and services globally • Knowledge of domestic and international higher-risk countries, jurisdictions, and corridors of AML/CTF concern preferred • Fluent/bilingual communication skills preferred
