📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate high-throughput Rust backend services processing financial transactions with correctness, idempotency, and auditability guarantees • Build KYB/KYC verification, risk scoring, sanctions and AML screening, case management, and compliance vendor integrations • Design backend systems for digital asset custody, including key management, policy engines, transaction authorization, ledger integrity, and audit trails • Build stablecoin minting, burning, management, smart contract, indexing, monitoring, and reconciliation services across blockchain networks • Own features end to end from product specification and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring • Help define products and propose high-value work as a domain expert • Integrate with banks, payment processors, blockchains, identity vendors, and compliance vendors • Improve observability, incident response, security practices, and API design • Collaborate with product, compliance, and engineering teams across MoonPay’s global network • At Staff level, set technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive cross-team architectural decisions

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience; 8+ years for Staff level • Track record of shipping and operating production systems at scale • Strong backend experience with a statically compiled language such as Rust, Go, C#, or C++ • Solid fundamentals in distributed systems, API design, data modeling, and asynchronous processing • Experience with precision-critical domains such as financial systems, double-entry ledgers, reconciliation, or similar software • Pragmatic, autonomous, ownership-driven mindset • Strong critical thinking and productive use of AI-assisted development while maintaining correctness, security, and design quality • Interest in crypto, stablecoins, and the future of payments • For Track 3, hands-on blockchain development experience is expected • Professional or hobby Rust experience is a bonus • Experience in fiat payments, banking integrations, card networks, or PSPs is a bonus • Familiarity with KYC/KYB, AML, sanctions screening, or regulated financial products is a bonus for Track 1 • Background in custody, key management (MPC/HSM), or institutional-grade security is a bonus for Track 2 • Smart contract development in Solidity or Rust, and on-chain indexing or node infrastructure experience, are bonuses for Track 3 • Experience working in regulated, multi-jurisdiction environments is a bonus
