📋 Description
• Manage and scale ClickHouse clusters (replication, sharding, distributed tables). • Handle schema evolution, partitioning strategies, and TTLs. • Maintain data consistency across replicas and shards. • Plan and execute upgrades with zero or minimal downtime. • Profile and optimize heavy queries and table engines. • Tune key configs (max_threads, max_memory_usage, merge settings, I/O schedulers). • Benchmark cluster performance (ingest throughput, query latency, merge rate). • Work with engineers to optimize schema and query patterns. • Maintain observability stack: Prometheus, Grafana, and system logs. • Set up alerting on query performance, merges, replicas, and disk usage. • Own backup and restore processes (S3, NFS, or local snapshots). • Test and document disaster recovery scenarios.
🎯 Requirements
• 2+ years hands-on ClickHouse experience and 4+ years working as a DBA with distributed or analytical databases. • Strong understanding of replication, partitioning, and distributed table design. • Experience with performance tuning and large-scale OLAP workloads. • Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana). • Hands-on experience managing production clusters with high uptime requirements. • Comfortable taking full ownership of mission-critical systems.
