Motriz is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening local governments in Brazil to ensure they deliver high-quality services for all. We focus on promoting ethnic-racial equity, gender equity, and socio-environmental sustainability. Born from the merger of Vetor Brasil and Instituto Gesto, Motriz unites two organizations that, for eight years, followed distinct paths but shared the same long-term vision: building institutional capacity in governments as a key driver for a more just country. Our approach emphasizes designing, disseminating, and supporting the implementation of methodologies, tools, and training programs to develop public sector leadership and strengthen governance.

📋 Description

• Coordinate the collection, structuring, and analysis of educational assessment data (e.g., SAEB, state/municipal assessments, flow and learning indicators). • Develop and maintain analytical models and predictors of educational outcomes, linking input, process, and outcome data. • Ensure the quality, consistency, and currency of databases used by the organization and its partners. • Contribute to the design and evolution of interfaces and visualization dashboards to make data accessible and understandable for managers of education secretariats. • Work closely with the technology team to define integration requirements between different educational data sources and systems. • Translate public-sector managers' needs into functional specifications for new analytical features. • Plan and conduct process and outcome evaluations of Motriz's programs. • Produce studies, technical notes, and reports to inform internal and partner strategic decisions. • Stay up to date with academic literature and evidence in education policy, applying it to the organization's context. • Present analyses and recommendations to secretariat leadership, the board, and funders in a clear, action-oriented manner. • Support preparation of materials for strategic meetings, boards, and external events. • Collaborate with program teams to ensure effective use of data in school management and policy formulation. • Supervise analysts and/or interns in the monitoring and evaluation area. • Establish routines and quality protocols for the production and validation of analyses.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, Education, Data Science, or related fields. • Strong experience in educational data analysis, public policy evaluation, or applied research. • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Stata, R, Python, or SQL). • Experience with educational microdata (Censo Escolar, INEP, SAEB, state assessments) is highly desirable. • Proven ability to translate complex analyses into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences. • Experience designing or specifying dashboards and data interfaces (programming the tools is not required, but the ability to specify requirements to technical teams is). • Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience producing reports and presentations. • Postgraduate degree (master's or PhD) in Economics, Education, or related fields is a plus. • Previous experience in non-profit organizations, education secretariats, or educational research institutions is also an advantage. • Knowledge of impact evaluation methods (e.g., difference-in-differences, matching, regression discontinuity). • Familiarity with the educational technology (EdTech) ecosystem and AI tools applied to education.
