📋 Description

• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance, and reliable backend applications. • Participate in code reviews as part of the collaborative development process. • Collaborate cross-functionally to define, design, and ship new features. • Maintain and improve the performance, quality, and responsiveness of cloud services. • Implement security and data protection best practices. • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and share best practices with the team. • Maintain existing Home Assistant Cloud features and infrastructure. • Help create valuable new Home Assistant Cloud features with efficiency and privacy in mind. • Report to the Cloud team’s engineering manager.

🎯 Requirements

• At least five years of professional experience in back-end development. • At least two years of professional experience in Node.js/Typescript. • Basic knowledge of system administration. • Experience with cloud services, preferably AWS. • Experience with Git & Github. • Ability to cover Eastern → Pacific timezones (UTC-5 → UTC-8). • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. • Experience in NestJS, Elixir, Terraform, Grafana or Python is desirable. • Personal experience using Home Assistant is desirable. • Knowledge in modern frontend app development is desirable. • Affinity with open-source development and philosophy is desirable.
