📋 Description

• Define, lead, and be accountable for the strategic results of a portfolio of conservation programs in the Brazilian Amazon • Lead implementation of the Brazilian Amazon strategy and Theory of Change • Guide strategy, initiative prioritization, resource allocation, organizational design, and capacity development • Be accountable for strategic results, impact indicators, and operational performance • Lead, develop, and evaluate managers, coordinators, and multidisciplinary teams • Oversee financial resources and program budgets • Ensure program governance, monitoring, evaluation, learning, and continuous adaptation • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with governments, civil society organizations, the private sector, academia, local communities, and funders • Lead or support fundraising efforts • Represent TNC institutionally in forums, negotiations, and decision-making spaces • Influence public policy, decision-making processes, and governance mechanisms • Promote multisector collaboration to increase the scale, effectiveness, and durability of conservation outcomes • Travel domestically and internationally as required by programmatic and strategic needs • Work in varied weather and terrain conditions, including remote and physically challenging locations

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience in natural resource management, public policy, economics, or related fields • Advanced English proficiency, both oral and written • Demonstrated experience leading management teams, including supervising managers and multidisciplinary teams • Strong experience in strategy development, portfolio management, prioritization, and strategic decision-making • Experience developing partnerships with NGOs, the private sector, community groups, and/or government agencies; conducting complex negotiations; and managing relationships with funders • Experience conducting complex negotiations • Experience managing the finances and budgets of large-scale programs • Experience designing and leading the implementation of strategies across large landscapes • Experience in government relations and public policy implementation • The successful applicant must meet the requirements of The Nature Conservancy's background screening process
