📋 Description

• Debug complex issues across Python applications, frameworks, dependencies, CI/CD, runtime environments, and platform integrations • Build tooling, automation, and diagnostics to prevent and resolve problems • Become a trusted expert on Netflix’s Python platform and developer tooling • Turn recurring developer pain points into improvements in tooling, documentation, workflows, and platform capabilities • Partner with Python Platform and other engineering teams to solve cross-system problems • Provide high-quality technical guidance to Netflix engineers • Support engineers in building, debugging, and operating applications on the Python developer platform and paved paths

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated software engineering experience building, debugging, or operating production systems • Proficiency in Python, with a track record of debugging and contributing to production code, libraries, or frameworks • Understanding of Python packaging and dependency management, including pip, pyproject.toml, virtual environments, and wheels • Experience with Python frameworks and development tooling such as FastAPI and Flask • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agentic tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and MCP • Experience debugging unfamiliar codebases and diagnosing issues across multiple system layers, including dependencies, build and CI/CD systems, runtime performance, concurrency or async I/O, distributed systems, or service-to-service integrations • Ability to read and reason about framework and library internals • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of ambiguous technical problems and drive them toward resolution • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English • Interest in improving developer productivity and engineering workflows at scale • Nice to have: platform engineering, developer productivity, or internal tooling experience • Nice to have: SRE, resilience engineering, fault injection, chaos testing, or progressive delivery experience • Nice to have: large-scale AWS or Kubernetes experience • Nice to have: JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or multi-stack debugging experience
