âą Lead the commercial development, negotiation, and optimization of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, including standalone storage assets and co-located solar-plus-storage projects âą Identify the best value and route-to-market for projects âą Forecast revenue schemes and offtake contract possibilities, including Tolling Agreements and PPAs âą Optimize commercial plant design to derisk projects and maximize value at Ready-to-Build (RTB) âą Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of electricity markets in at least one target country âą Monitor regulatory and market developments and evaluate their impact on project revenues and commercial viability âą Collect, analyze, and develop electricity price forecasts and revenue projections âą Analyze and compare route-to-market and optimization models and select and negotiate optimal commercial structures âą Originate, negotiate, and close Tolling Agreements and Power Purchase Agreements with offtakers, utilities, and traders âą Support business cases, investment decisions, financial models, and technical/commercial due diligence âą Build and maintain relationships with utilities, energy traders, optimizers, aggregators, system operators, regulatory authorities, investors, and asset operators âą Evaluate and optimize technical system configurations, including duration, sizing, and PV/BESS ratio âą Collaborate with Development, Engineering, Finance, and external partners throughout the project lifecycle âą Perform quantitative analyses comparing battery durations, determining battery sizing, evaluating revenue allocation, and conducting scenario and sensitivity analyses
âą Good understanding of electricity markets in at least one European target market âą Familiarity with Day-Ahead, Intraday, Balancing, Ancillary Services, Capacity Markets, and other flexibility markets âą Understanding of current revenue optimization and commercialization models for standalone BESS and co-located renewable energy projects âą Ability to interpret and use market models, revenue forecasts, and financial models âą Strong Excel skills and financial modeling capabilities âą Familiarity with Python, Power BI, or similar tools is a plus âą Exposure to commercial negotiations, tolling agreements, PPAs, or energy trading is beneficial but not mandatory âą Strong commercial and negotiation skills; proven ability to lead and close deals âą Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills âą Self-driven, proactive, and entrepreneurial mindset âą Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills âą Fluent English (written and spoken); additional European languages are considered an advantage âą Bachelor's or Master's degree in Energy Economics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, or related discipline âą 5-8 years of experience in commercial or offtake origination, PPA/tolling negotiation, route-to-market, or energy trading, combined with a solid understanding of electricity markets and BESS & all renewable assets âą A demonstrable deal track record is highly desirable
