• Pre-underwrite loan files by reviewing borrower documentation such as credit reports, income documents, and assets to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Assist with income calculations and verify supporting documents. • Support senior underwriters in identifying potential risks and issues in loan applications. • Ensure all loan applications comply with company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory guidelines. • Communicate with internal stakeholders and lenders to resolve issues and ensure timely processing of loan applications. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage products and underwriting guidelines for Conventional, FHA, VA, and other loan types.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, business, or a related field. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. • Experience using Encompass loan origination software is a huge benefit. • Prior experience with mortgage processing or underwriting is preferred but not required. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. • High attention to detail and accuracy. • Critical thinking and decision-making skills. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Some experience in underwriting, loan processing, or similar roles is an advantage. • Familiarity with various mortgage types (Conventional, FHA, VA) is a plus.
