📋 Description

• Lead a team responsible for reliability across Akamai Inference Platform • Partner with product engineering teams to embed reliability into rapidly evolving products • Lead SRE initiatives for serverless inference • Ensure global-scale performance, observability, and operational resilience • Lead the team ensuring reliability for Akamai's Inference compute and platform services • Oversee hiring strategy, candidate evaluation, and interview coordination for SRE roles • Lead, mentor, and guide an existing team of SREs • Foster team growth and promote best practices across the organization • Implement and refine SRE practices, including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, capacity planning, and fault management • Champion and enforce Operational Readiness Reviews • Establish quality gates and create comprehensive runbooks

🎯 Requirements

• Experience leading SRE, Systems, or Platform Engineering teams in cloud environments • Demonstrated engineering management experience during growth periods • Expertise in SRE methodologies, including SLOs and error budgets • Experience building or maintaining observability platforms for distributed systems • Direct experience defining and running Operational Readiness Reviews or Production Readiness Reviews • Understanding of AI infrastructure and serverless inference workflows • Experience managing multi-node GPU clusters for optimized performance and scalability • Ability to implement automation initiatives and improve operational workflows and infrastructure efficiency • Ability to collaborate with product teams and architects • Experience with SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, capacity planning, fault management, observability, quality gates, and runbooks
