📋 Description
• Design, build, and operate infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments • Own networking, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and cost management • Own code deployment pipelines and automation, including feature flag systems and progressive delivery • Define and maintain monitoring standards for logging, metrics, and alerting • Set service levels and lead incident response and management • Participate in 24/7 on-call duties as an engineer • Own the platform security framework, including vulnerability management, patching, and framework/dependency upgrades • Ensure adherence to compliance programs, including audit logging, data residency, and access controls • Shape developer experience through internal tooling, self-service workflows, and paved paths • Partner with software engineering and product teams to surface constraints, align priorities, and maintain delivery • Manage a team of 6–8 engineers • Own hiring, interviews, offers, performance reviews, underperformance management, and career development • Build career development paths and mentorship plans for engineers • Give engineers ownership and autonomy over their domains
🎯 Requirements
• Experience as both an engineer and a people manager, or experience as a staff engineer mentoring people • Hands-on platform engineering or DevOps experience at production scale • Experience with CI/CD, cloud services, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code • Experience owning reliability in production, including on-call, incident response, and SLO management • Experience improving developer experience through internal tooling, self-service platforms, or paved paths • 3+ years managing engineers directly, with full ownership of hiring, performance, and career development • Collaborative working style • Experience in a fast-growing, global SaaS company is desirable • Experience with network engineering and DNS administration is optional • Experience with feature flag-based deployments is optional • Security engineering background, including vulnerability management and framework/dependency upgrade programs, is optional • Previous engagements in regulated industries are optional
