📋 Description

• Take technical responsibility for production Ceph clusters and continuously evolve their architecture • Operate, administer and optimize Ceph RBD as well as Ceph object storage with RGW and an S3-compatible interface • Plan, implement and largely automate upgrades, expansions and lifecycle activities • Analyze performance, capacity and stability issues and develop sustainable solutions • Further develop automation using Ansible, Python and Git, reducing manual interventions through reproducible processes • Integrate Ceph into OpenStack and Kubernetes environments • Optimize monitoring, alerting, capacity management and technical operating standards • Handle complex incidents and problems in 2nd- and 3rd-level support, perform root-cause analyses and derive improvement measures • Document architectural decisions, operating procedures and automations in an auditable and traceable way • Support colleagues as a technical point of contact, share knowledge and promote professional exchange

🎯 Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in engineering and operating complex Linux and storage infrastructures • Solid hands-on experience with Ceph in production environments • Excellent knowledge of Linux and a sound understanding of distributed systems and their architecture • Experience in fault analysis, performance tuning, capacity planning as well as upgrade and lifecycle processes • Good automation skills with Ansible and ideally Python • Confident use of Git and version-controlled working practices • Solid understanding of network technologies such as routing, DNS, firewalling and NAT • Analytical, structured and solution-oriented working style • Willingness to take technical responsibility and to represent decisions transparently • Good written and spoken German and English • Completed IT training, a technical degree or an equivalent qualification gained through relevant professional experience
