📋 Description

• Interact with internal and external customers and partners regarding system safety topics • Define, implement, and verify System Safety requirements with Software Safety and System Safety engineering teams • Understand the entire mission, including launch vehicle, payload, ground support equipment, range infrastructure, and range safety interfaces • Apply systems engineering processes to define and verify launch vehicle and ground support equipment requirements • Conduct system safety analyses to architect and implement safe, robust systems • Interface with customer safety and support working groups • Support launch vehicle design and development for safety, mission success, and performance goals • Analyze Integration and Test processes to demonstrate safety and mission-success requirements • Conduct system-level analysis of next-generation mission concepts and designs • Explain launch vehicle designs and software safety requirements to external customers • Review software, functional specifications, operations, support equipment, and facilities • Establish safety requirements and recommend safety criteria to control or eliminate hazards • Develop safety documents supporting customer and test/operational range requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Completing or having completed a degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution • Major or completed major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance • U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite • Ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher preferred • Understanding of launch vehicle, payload, ground support equipment, range infrastructure, and range safety interfaces • Understanding of component, subsystem, system, and integrated launch vehicle functions and interactions, with a focus on Software System Safety • Ability to apply systems engineering processes and conduct system safety analyses • Ability to analyze Integration and Test processes • Ability to describe, analyze, and explain launch vehicle designs and applicable software safety requirements
