📋 Description

• Own accounting delivery across a diverse portfolio of client accounts and entities • Manage the full accounting lifecycle from client onboarding through bookkeeping, close, reporting, and ongoing support • Ensure client deliverables are accurate and completed on schedule • Serve as a trusted finance partner to client founders and leadership teams • Translate financial information into actionable client insights • Own day-to-day bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledgers, transaction coding, and financial documentation • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes • Perform and oversee account and bank reconciliations • Prepare and review financial statements under applicable GAAP and/or IFRS requirements • Analyze financial performance, trends, inconsistencies, and risks • Present financial information to client leadership • Establish scalable close and reporting procedures • Establish internal controls, accounting policies, financial procedures, and governance standards • Coordinate tax compliance, regulatory filings, and external audit requirements • Work with external tax advisors and auditors • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, banking processes, working capital, and short-term liquidity • Support clients with cash management and financial decisions • Own and optimize cloud accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online and Xero • Evaluate, select, and implement accounting or ERP solutions • Develop scalable workflows, SOPs, and operating procedures • Improve manual processes while maintaining consistency, accuracy, and data integrity • Leverage AI tools for accounting and finance workflows, analysis, reporting, documentation, and automation • Validate AI-generated outputs for financial accuracy • Establish and scale the accounting service line • Determine future accounting team structure and resource requirements • Mentor and potentially recruit and manage accounting team members • Work closely with client founders, business founder, finance professionals, external advisors, and Operations Manager • Participate in in-person training programs during the first 3.5 weeks

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience • Ideally, experience in multi-client, multi-entity, fractional CFO, outsourced accounting, or professional services environments • Deep hands-on knowledge of bookkeeping, AP, AR, general ledger management, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statement preparation • Ability to prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and/or IFRS • Experience establishing internal controls, accounting policies, financial procedures, and supporting tax, regulatory, and audit requirements • Strong understanding of cash management, banking, working capital, and liquidity oversight • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or comparable cloud accounting platforms • Ability to evaluate and implement finance systems • Confidence working directly with founders and senior leadership and translating financial information into clear recommendations and insights • Demonstrated ability to build accounting processes and SOPs from the ground up and improve operational efficiency • Comfortable operating independently and remaining accountable without mature processes or constant supervision • Experience using AI tools for finance workflows, analysis, documentation, reporting, or automation • Strong written and verbal English • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders • Willingness to work a split shift with some overlap with the client’s time zone • Expected to attend in-person training during the first 3.5 weeks
