📋 Description

• You’ll design and implement backend services using Node.js/TypeScript, supporting data ingestion, transformation, and API integration workflows. • You’ll work closely with client teams to clarify requirements, propose technical approaches, and ensure backend services align with interoperability standards such as FHIR or MCP frameworks. • You’ll also help shape the direction of the backend stack—improving performance, reliability, logging, error handling, and automation across the service. • This role requires strong independent problem-solving, clear communication, and the ability to own backend decisions in a small, focused engineering environment.

🎯 Requirements

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. In alignment with federal contract requirements, certain roles may also require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation and/or a security clearance. • Mid-to-senior level backend engineering experience with Node.js and TypeScript • Solid hands-on experience building RESTful APIs, services, and backend workflow logic • Ability to operate independently and unblock yourself when working as the primary backend engineer • Experience engaging directly with clients or stakeholders, communicating technical decisions and trade-offs • Familiarity with backend testing (unit, functional/e2e, load), security audits, debugging, observability, alerting, and performance optimization • Experience working with relational databases (like PostgreSQL), index/query optimization, backend validation, and coding APIs defensively against user input. • Comfort working in Agile environments (planning, refinement, standups, retrospectives) • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
