📋 Description

• Senior Accountant who combines full-cycle accounting mastery with Avalara experience; own general ledger and monthly close; manage multi-state sales & use tax via Avalara and produce US GAAP financials. • End-to-End Accounting (US GAAP): monthly, quarterly, and annual close; prepare journals, accruals, reconciliations; maintain GL; prepare US GAAP financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow); manage AR/AP and related processes; oversee payroll accounting and related accruals; fixed assets and leases; ASC 606; coordinate annual audit/review. • Avalara Ownership (AvaTax, Returns, CertCapture): administer Avalara AvaTax, nexus settings, monitor taxability matrix; file returns; manage notices; CertCapture lifecycle; test connectors; audit trail. • Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement: strengthen policies, close checklists, SOX-style controls; automate/manual transitions; create dashboards on close health, tax exposures, and filing status. • Qualifications: required: Bachelor’s degree, 5–8+ years experience; Avalara; multi-state tax; US GAAP; Excel; ERP integration; preferred: CPA; e-commerce SaaS; ERP exp; BI/SQL. • Tools You’ll Use: Tax: Avalara AvaTax/Returns/CertCapture; ERP/Accounting: NetSuite/Dynamics/Sage Intacct/QuickBooks Online; Billing/Commerce: Stripe, Shopify; Productivity: Excel/Sheets/GDrive/Slack/Jira

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience with end-to-end ownership of the close. • Avalara experience: AvaTax + Returns; CertCapture strongly preferred. • Demonstrated multi-state sales & use tax compliance and nexus management. • Strong command of US GAAP (ASC 606 revenue; accruals; fixed assets; leases familiarity). • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations); comfort with large data sets. • Experience integrating Avalara with at least one ERP/e‑commerce/billing system.
