📋 Description

• Assess existing .NET Framework applications, including dependencies, integration points, and data access patterns • Produce modernization plans with sequencing and risks identified • Modify application code to support PostgreSQL as the backend • Untangle and port legacy ADO.NET and Entity Framework data access layers • Migrate database workloads from Oracle to PostgreSQL, including schema conversion, PL/SQL-to-PL/pgSQL translation, data type and collation reconciliation, query rewrites, and performance validation • Use AI coding agents for codebase discovery, characterization-test generation, PL/SQL-to-PL/pgSQL translation, and code review, with human validation • Write characterization, integration, and automated old-versus-new comparison tests • Work with client architects, DBAs, and product owners; explain trade-offs and document decisions • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and observability • Mentor mid-level developers and review code for maintainability

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with significant depth in C# and .NET • Strong, current working knowledge of .NET Framework 4.8 and ASP.NET MVC, Web API, Web Forms, WCF, IIS, and Windows Services • Demonstrated experience modernizing or migrating existing applications, not just greenfield development • Solid relational database skills, including SQL writing and tuning, execution plans, and transaction and isolation behavior • Hands-on Oracle experience with PL/SQL, packages, procedures, triggers, and sequences • Hands-on practical experience using AI coding agents in real delivery work, beyond AI as a search or lookup tool • Experience with source control, branching strategy, and CI/CD in a team setting, such as Git, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions • Ability to communicate clearly with non-engineers and work well when requirements are incomplete • English proficiency level required; application lists Advanced C1/C2, Intermediate B1/B2, and Beginner A1/A2 options • Open to candidates in Latin America
