📋 Description

• Lead the design of architectures supporting multiple squads. • Write and serve as the final reviewer for structural RFCs, anticipating edge cases. • Drive build-vs.-buy decisions and the adoption of new technologies, analyzing costs, risks, and long-term impacts. • Diagnose and lead the resolution of systemic issues affecting services. • Lead the technical post-incident investigation of the most serious incidents, proposing structural changes to prevent recurrence. • Address scalability and latency bottlenecks that limit growth, such as Pix throughput during peak hours. • Define technical standards for the entire engineering organization, including observability, testing, security, databases, and Kafka. • Reduce entire classes of technical debt by creating tooling and abstractions reused by multiple teams. • Mentor engineers and help them reach the next level. • Act as a liaison between squads, aligning technical decisions, eliminating duplicated work, and providing direction to teams. • Participate in engineering hiring panels, helping calibrate the technical bar.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of solid software engineering experience, with a track record of technical impact beyond your immediate team. • Strong command of distributed systems design, including scalability, resilience, consistency, idempotency, and observability. • Experience with AWS. • Experience leading architectural decisions and writing high-quality RFCs/design documents. • Ability to influence without formal authority and communicate technical vision to engineers and leadership. • Preferred: experience in fintech, payments, credit, collections, or fraud prevention, with an understanding of regulatory requirements (BACEN, PCI, LGPD). • Preferred: experience with GraphQL. • Preferred: experience with production reliability, including SLOs, on-call rotations, and post-mortems for serious incidents. • Preferred: experience with IaC (Serverless Framework, Terraform) and advanced observability (Datadog, OpenTelemetry, X-Ray).
