📋 Description

• Oversee the technical direction and development of our most foundational initiatives • Drive technical excellence across multiple teams while shaping the architectural vision of our platform • Balance strategic planning with hands-on technical guidance • Ensure our engineering organization delivers robust, scalable solutions • Treat the Internal Platform as a product, prioritizing developer experience (DX) • Define and execute technical strategy across multiple engineering teams • Lead and mentor a team of Engineering Managers and senior engineers • Drive architectural decisions for large-scale distributed systems • Champion best practices in software development and operational excellence • Manage complex technical debt and guide system modernization efforts • Represent Pantheon's technical interests by building and maintaining strong relationships with technology partners

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years in senior roles managing other managers • Proven track record of building and leading multiple high-performing engineering teams • Track record of successful large-scale technical initiatives and organizational transformation • Executive-level communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for various audiences • Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and container orchestration systems • Delivery of critical compliance initiatives including SOC2, PCI, ISO, and/or FedRAMP • Expert understanding of distributed systems design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies • Supporting AI-native development workflows, including LLM integration and agentic automation • Proficiency with modern development practices, CI/CD, and DevOps methodologies • Staff-level architectural knowledge with passion for driving decision-making through in-depth technical discussions • Strong foundation in programming languages such as Go, Python, or Java
