• Manage Cloud Infrastructure: Help maintain and monitor our AWS cloud multi-account environment. You will use Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) to configure and provision resources across accounts, ensuring our systems are reliable, secure, and scalable. • Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Work with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and AWS CodePipeline to deploy updates to our SaaS platform. You’ll assist in improving build/deployment automation so that we can deliver features to customers quickly and safely. • Deploy the APA Platform: Install, configure, and support the NICE APA application for new and existing customers in on-premise environments. (No prior experience with NICE APA is expected – we will train you on this enterprise automation platform.) • Automate and Script: Write and maintain scripts (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to automate routine tasks, improve system integrations, and eliminate manual work. For example, you might script a health-check for servers or automate parts of the deployment process. • Troubleshoot and Support: Investigate and resolve infrastructure or application issues across both cloud and on-prem setups. You’ll participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents (with plenty of support from the team) and help ensure we respond quickly to any outages or urgent problems. • Collaborate on Improvements: Work closely with senior engineers to design and implement enhancements in architecture, security, and performance. You’ll get to contribute ideas on things like optimizing our AWS usage, improving monitoring/alerting, and refining deployment processes. • Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers during support cases or incident reports. This could mean guiding a client through a workaround, collecting information for debugging, or reassuring them during an outage. You’ll learn to translate technical issues into clear, empathetic communication. • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Document your solutions, processes, and learnings. Whether it’s updating a runbook for deploying the APA platform or writing a short “how-to” for a new Terraform module, you’ll help build our team’s knowledge base. Everyone on the team contributes to keeping our documentation useful and our bus factor low. • Continuous Learning: Stay curious and proactive. You’ll have time and encouragement to explore new tools or services that could benefit our infrastructure. Over time, you might become our go-to person for a particular domain (whether that’s cloud networking, CI/CD, or the APA application itself).
• Foundational Experience: You have a solid technical base in IT infrastructure and cloud services. Perhaps you’ve had 1-3 years in a junior DevOps, sysadmin, or cloud engineer role, enough to be comfortable with AWS basics (EC2, S3, VPC, etc.) and command-line tools. • AWS Knowledge: Familiarity with AWS is important. You don’t need to be an expert on every service, but you should understand core concepts (e.g. how networking and permissions work, what EC2 or IAM is) and be excited to deepen your AWS skills. Experience with managing multiple AWS accounts or environments is a bonus, but not required. • Scripting Skills: Ability to write simple scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. You’ve automated tasks or solved problems by scripting before, even if it was a small personal project or some utility at work. You don’t need to be a software developer, but you should be comfortable reading and writing code to automate workflows. • Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD: Basic exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) and CI/CD pipelines is highly valued. Maybe you’ve written a Terraform module or used Jenkins/Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions in a project. If not, you at least understand why versioning infrastructure and automated deployments are useful, and you’re eager to learn these tools here. • Systems Thinking: Curiosity about how complex systems work. You enjoy understanding how an application goes from code to running service, how all the pieces (servers, databases, networks, pipelines) fit together. You don’t shy away from digging into logs or asking “why does this configuration exist?” • Problem-Solving Attitude: When faced with an issue, you are resourceful and persistent. Maybe you haven’t seen the exact problem before, but you Google, read docs, ask questions, and try things methodically. You take ownership of challenges and aren’t afraid to admit what you don’t know. • Communication & Collaboration: Good communication skills in a remote environment. You can clearly describe a technical issue in writing or on a call. You’re not a lone wolf; you like being part of a team, sharing knowledge, and learning from others. When a teammate or customer asks for help, you listen and respond patiently. • Customer Empathy: While this is an inward-facing engineering role, you understand that ultimately our infrastructure serves people (our customers and colleagues). You’re able to be professional and calm in customer interactions during incidents or support, even if it’s your first time facing that scenario. • Growth Mindset: Most importantly, you’re hungry to learn. You get excited about picking up new technologies or diving into a new domain (whether it’s a new AWS service or the internals of the NICE APA platform). You might not tick every box in this job description today – that’s okay. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude and potential, not a perfect resume. If you meet some of these requirements and are enthusiastic about the role, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every single one. Your willingness to learn and adapt is what matters most.
• Mentorship & Support: You’ll be joining a small, tight-knit team that truly believes in lifting each other up. We will pair you with seasoned engineers who enjoy teaching and will mentor you on everything from Terraform tips to tackling production outages. No question is too small. • Real Impact from Day One: At a 60-person company, every hire is important. The projects you take on will directly impact our products and customers – whether it’s improving deployment speed or resolving a customer’s issue, you’ll see real outcomes from your work. This isn’t a backroom, siloed position; you’ll be front and center in our operations. • Autonomy and Ownership: We trust our team members. As you grow in confidence, you’ll get the freedom to own projects and make technical decisions. Have an idea to improve monitoring or automate a process? Run with it – you’ll have the agency to implement changes, with guidance as needed. • Path for Growth: This role is intentionally designed to evolve. Over time, depending on your strengths and interests, you could grow into a Cloud/Platform Specialist (expert in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, DevOps tooling) or an Application Deployment Expert (specialist in the ins-and-outs of the APA platform and complex app environments). We will support your development through on-the-job learning, access to training resources, and increasing responsibilities to match your progress. • Inclusive Culture: We pride ourselves on being a friendly, inclusive workplace. Different backgrounds and perspectives make us better. If you’ve ever felt underestimated elsewhere, you’ll find that we value your input here. We celebrate initiative and curiosity over credentials or titles. • Flexibility: Work remotely from wherever you’re at your best. Our team is distributed, but we stay closely connected via Slack, video calls, and good documentation. We understand you have a life outside of work – we offer flexibility in schedules and vacation so you don’t burn out. • Mission & Impact: Our advanced automation solutions help organizations streamline processes and free people from tedious work. By joining us, you’re contributing to technology that makes work more human for thousands of users.
