• PingWind is seeking a qualified Senior Linux Administrator to serve in an advisory role to a high-level government official at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), supporting large complex programs. • Candidates must possess technical and testing expertise with a strong Linux background, to include installation, configuration management, backup strategies and maintenance of Linux operating systems. • Candidates must also have a background in VMware’s virtual environment and experience in VMware configuration management, VMware backup, and other VMware system management duties. • Responsibilities include serving as a senior-level consultant and support specialist, testing, management, strategy, process improvement, customer satisfaction, operations, and implementation of solutions.
• Bachelor of Science degree or related business field with 10+ years of Linux Administration background; 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education • U.S. Citizenship; Ability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Background Investigation • Strong background in Virtual VMware environment • Strong background in Ansible deployments • Ownership mentality and is a self-starter with high level of drive • Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills • Excellent time management and organizational skills • Extreme attention to detail and high standard of excellence/quality for all work products • Expert-level communicator who knows how to manage expectations proactively and clearly, both internally and externally, oral and written • Knows when to ask for help
