📋 Description

• Be present and active in our community spaces including Discord, Reddit, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms where our users gather • Answer technical questions about databases, MySQL/Vitess, Postgres, and PlanetScale products • Participate in broader database and engineering communities where PlanetScale users are active • Monitor conversations across platforms to identify trends, common questions, and opportunities for educational content • Create educational developer content based on real conversations and questions you're seeing in the field • Develop content in multiple formats: written tutorials and guides, video demonstrations, livestreams, conference talks, and meetup presentations • Translate complex database concepts into accessible, practical content that serves developers of all skill levels • Identify and support community champions and power users • Collaborate with product engineering teams to gather and deliver community feedback • Represent PlanetScale at conferences, meetups, and community events (some travel required)

🎯 Requirements

• Engineering background with hands-on experience building applications and working with databases • Comfortable creating content in multiple formats: writing, video, live presentations • Active member of database or engineering communities • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Patient and thoughtful when answering questions, even when they're repeated frequently • You can share examples of your work: blog posts, videos, conference talks, demos, or community contributions • Experience with Postgres and/or MySQL • Previous developer relations, developer advocacy, or community management experience.
