Established in 1972, Playgroup NSW is a membership association that supports young children and their families to come together for playgroups and other activities that promote early childhood development and build connections between families and communities.
• Create a welcoming, safe and inclusive playgroup environment that encourages positive participation from children and families. • Support the Lead Educator to plan and deliver playgroup sessions, contribute to topic discussions and share relevant information with families. • Deliver inclusive group experiences aligned with Playgroup NSW principles and program expectations. • Maintain a high standard of duty of care, promptly identifying and reporting hazards, incidents and injuries in line with procedures. • Assist with session set‑up and pack‑down, ensuring environments and practice align with the EYLF, AEDC and Playgroup NSW frameworks. • Uphold child‑safe practices and respond appropriately to any safety or wellbeing concerns. • Support children’s interests, inclusion and participation, including age‑appropriate decision‑making. • Maintain safe, engaging and appealing learning environments. • Drive the PLAYVAN to program locations as required. • Undertake other duties as directed to support effective program delivery.
• Minimum Cert III in Child Related Studies or currently studying within a relevant field. • Experience working in an early childhood setting. • Strong knowledge of development through play practices and positive parenting strategies as well as an understanding of the importance of early learning attendance for children prior to school. • Excellent interpersonal skills. • Working With Children Check, Driver’s Licence, and able to drive a larger vehicle.
