📋 Description
• Reviews emergency room medical records to assign ICD, CPT, HCPCS codes accurately • Meets and exceeds productivity and quality standards • Reviews physician documentation and performs audits to determine accuracy as needed • Updates charges (as needed) and processes the records in a timely manner • Reviews tasks and corrects codes as needed • Provide training to fellow staff to improve coding outcomes
🎯 Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED Required with completion of a coding certification program • Associates Degree in Health Information Management or similar preferred • Minimum 3 years of ER coding experience in hospital facility • ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, E/M experience required • Coding credential required from AHIMA/AAPC (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)
